Nacen en la ciudad de Krefeld, cuando Hansi Kürsch y André Olbrich decide formar una banda de Heavy Metal. Con Hansi a la voz y al bajo, André en la guitarra, Marcus Dörk como segunda guitarra, Thomen Stauch en la batería graban su primera maqueta titulada "Symphonies Of Doom" bajo el nombre de "LUCIFER'S HERITAGE". Actualmente, y tras casi tres décadas de vigencia, "BLIND GUARDIAN" se enaltecen como una de las más populares agrupaciones Power Metal, gracias a su melódico sonido, y sus fantásticas letras donde envuelven las historias épicas, las leyendas y mitos, literatura y fantasía.
